(courtesy Hannover Architectural High School) The program language used was BASIC and in order to speed up programming, many statements where on the keys. With the key in the left corner you could switch between the normal characters and the statement function. In the statement mode, the full text of the statement like RESTORE, READ, PRINT, SIN( etc. would appear on the screen with a single keystroke. Only with the introduction of new terminals at around 1980, using serial communication instead of coax, this function was abandoned. http://vintagecomputers.square7.ch/neue_datei14.html http://vintagecomputers.square7.ch/Vintage/Wang2200/P1050388_s.jpg https://www.wang2200.org/systems.html https://computarium.lcd.lu/photos/albums/BONAMI_MISC/album/slides/P1030543.html https://computarium.lcd.lu/photos/albums/BONAMI_MISC/album/slides/P1030543.JPG The WANG 2200 mini-computer from 1973, here in a mini-rack size cabinet with 8" floppy disks and the display on top.
